Kim Chiu talked about her annual charity event
Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu spoke about her recent effort to give back to the community as part of her birthday celebration.
Kim celebrated her 36th birthday last April 19. Part of her celebration was doing a charity event. This year, she decided to give free gas to tricycle drivers, and she also gave groceries and food.
Amid the ongoing oil crisis, this became a big help for drivers who were greatly affected by this problem. Because of this charitable endeavor, many netizens praised the Kapamilya actress.
In a recent vlog that Kim Chiu released, she spoke about her initiative to give free gas to tricycle drivers. Based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Kim was able to help out 600 drivers through her birthday charity event.
“Ang sarap mabuhay to give, to receive love, to give love, and to spread love and joy. It is indeed a happy birthday,” the actress shared.
The free gas and grocery packs were funded by the closet bazaar that she hosted earlier this year.
In her vlog, which is posted on her YouTube Channel, Kim visited three gasoline stations in Quezon City to personally distribute the items. The Kapamilya actress was met with bright smiles as she handed out grocery bags and gas stubs to the grateful drivers.
To recall, back in January, Kim opened her closet bazaar. She sold her branded items for lower prices with the intention of giving back to the community. This was a big hit as many people supported her bazaar.
“Super grateful for all the love and support. Proceeds will be donated to charity,” she wrote in her post early this year announcing the success of the bazaar.
