Francine Diaz talked about her new movie with Seth Fedelin
Kapamilya actress Francine Diaz said that starring in her first rom-com movie, She Who Must Not Be Named, was a good kind of pressure for her.
Francine started young in the entertainment industry. Her big break took place when she portrayed the character of Cassie Mondragon in the hit afternoon series Kadenang Ginto, which aired from 2018 to 2020.
Through that series, “The Gold Squad,” a popular teen quartet featuring her alongside Kyle Echarri, Seth Fedelin, and Andrea Brillantes, was formed.
Last year, the young actress was able to experience her first horror film project last December in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Evil Origins.
This year, she was given a chance to have her first rom-com movie with her onscreen partner Seth Fedelin. In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Francine talked about her new movie, her first rom-com genre.
“Yung experience of doing this movie actually, para siyang kumabaga naging pahinga namin eh. Kasi nung ginagawa namin ito, meron din kaming isang show na ginagawa at the same time. Eh ang bigat din ng story dun. Actually, first rom-com namin ito. And ‘yung sa akin, mas tina-try ko iklian ‘yung mga experiences na gusto ko sabihin,” the young actress shared.
Francine Diaz also said that she hoped that she and her co-stars, as well as those who were behind the camera, had a longer time to bond with each other. The actress shared that everyone on the set really worked hard.
“Lahat binigay ‘yung 101% nila. And sana ‘pag pinanuod niyo ‘yung She Who Must Not Be Named, sana hindi ‘yung basta kami lang. Sana ma-appreciate niyo ‘yung hirap pagdating sa paggawa ng film,” Francine enthused.
The actress admitted that pressure came along with this project. However, she is not looking at it as something negative. “There’s a pressure but it’s a good kind of pressure kasi alam naman natin ‘yung estado sa sinehan ‘di ba? Halos lahat nag-aabang na lang na maipalabas sa cellphone or kung saang online streaming platform,” she said.
Also included in the cast are Bobby Andrews, Ruby Ruiz, Raven Rigor, Kych Minemoto, Elijah Alejo, Kaleb Ong, Abdul Raman, Lady Martin, and Bernadette Allyson. It is directed by Christopher Novabos.
