Cebu Road Rage Suspect Voluntarily Surrenders To Police

On early Tuesday morning (March 21, 2017), the road rage suspect in Cebu has already surrendered to the police, PNP Region 7 Director Noli Taliño says.

The gunman behind the road rage shooting in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City last Sunday (March 19, 2017) was identified as David Lim Jr. who shoots its victim Ephraim Nuñal after the heated exchange of argument. Nuñal suffered several gunshots to his left thigh and right ankle.

Mr. Lim and Nuñal have a heated exchange in a traffic altercation causing to Lim to went back inside his car and pulled out caliber .22, then shot Nuñal for several times. After the shooting incident, Mr. Lim quickly leaves together with his wife.

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña together with the members of Special Weapons and Tactics team in full battle gear rushed into the suspect’s residence without an arrest warrant because it wasn’t released yet.

Osmeña said that they came to Lim’s house to invite him for questioning but the suspect was not around upon their arrival. The authorities invited his father for questioning, while the arrest warrant is being processed.

The Cebu City mayor deployed the policemen at the Mactan Cebu International Airport to prevent the suspect from possible escape. A P100, 000 reward await anyone who can give information that will lead to arrest Mr. Lim.

Around 2 am on Tuesday, Mr. Lim voluntarily surrendered himself at the PNP Regional Office 7 in Cebu as he was accompanied by lawyer Jun Salatandre, his mother Bebong Lim, and 2 relatives, according to Taliño.

The suspect is now temporarily under the custody of the PNP regional office while the case filed against is now pending on the court.

  1. The connection to the administration is too is obvious to be unnoticed. That’s the reason for the road rage. The gunman thought he could do what he wants and get away with it. People close to the current government are having their haydays.
