Young Boy Accidentally Swallows Coin That Gets Stuck in His ThroatÂ
A young boy from Sorsogon accidentally put a five-peso coin in his mouth, which ended up getting stuck in his throat.
Recently, the Facebook page MDRRMO-Bulan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management shared a photo of the child who accidentally swallowed the coin. The post quickly went viral and gained reactions online.
According to the report, the emergency happened early in the morning on April 11, 2026, at around 7:19 AM in Purok 2, Barangay Inararan. The MDRRMO Emergency Operations Center received a call through VHF radio from a responder who was already helping the child before additional help arrived.

The situation was urgent, as the coin had blocked the boy’s airway and needed immediate attention.
Just a few minutes later, the MDRRMO Emergency Response Team Bravo reached the area at around 7:24 AM. Upon arrival, they quickly checked the boy’s condition and worked together with the first responder on site.
The team immediately performed first aid procedures to help remove the object that was causing the blockage.
They used techniques such as abdominal thrusts and chest thrusts to clear the airway and help the boy breathe properly again. These actions were done carefully and quickly to avoid further danger.

Thanks to their fast response, the boy was given the help he needed during those critical moments.
After the initial treatment, the child was safely placed inside a rescue vehicle and rushed to Bulan Medicare Hospital. There, he received further medical care and proper evaluation to ensure his safety. Quick action and proper first aid can help in emergency situations.
