Precious Lara Quigaman was part of choosing this year’s Binibinis
Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman shared her advice for the aspiring candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2026.
Precious Lara is one of the most successful former beauty queens in the Philippines. After her reign, he was able to have a successful acting career. She also had some hosting stints and continued doing TV series and movies even after getting married to her husband, actor Marco Alcaraz, and having their three boys.
Precious Lara and her family are currently based in Canada, but she recently returned to the Philippines to be part of the panel that evaluated and selected the official 36 candidates for this year’s edition of Binibining Pilipinas. She was joined by Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) executive committee and reigning Binibining Pilipinas queens.
During the interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Precious Lara Quigaman shared that she’s happy to be back in the country, and it has been three years since her last Binibining Pilipinas event.
“We have a really good batch of ladies this year. I don’t know if you were here (during the screening), but they’re so articulate, they’re all so smart. I’m so proud of them,” she shared. She also shared that she will be returning to the Philippines for the coronation night.
When asked what she was looking for in a candidate, the former beauty queen said that more than beauty, she wanted to know the reason for their decision to join
Precious Lara said that it is a given factor that Binibinis are beautiful, but what sets them apart from each other is their purpose. “So we really listened to their stories of why they’re here and why they wanted to join. That was that. For me, more than obviously being beautiful, it’s also their story,” she shared.
The actress also pointed out that the Binibini, who is someone who is very helpful to their fellow women, will really stand out. She added that they want a “Binibini who is really smart and full of integrity.”
For her advice to aspiring beauty queens, she said, “So I had a chance to talk to them during the screening. Just enjoy it, give it your all, and just be yourself — be your real self.”
