Bela Padilla earned this tag because of her “hugot” movies
Kapamilya actress Bela Padilla accepted the title of Queen of Heartbreaks, and in fact, she is happy with people’s reactions to her heartbreaking movies.
Bela is one of the prominent drama actresses of her generation. She is known for making people cry with her characters in movies that became iconic, like Stella, her character in the movie 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, which had its sequel this year, titled 100 Awit Para Kay Stella.
With her heartbreaking scenes in the movies and lines that touched the hearts of many viewers, Bela earned the tag “Queen of Heartbreaks” or the Queen of heartbreaking movies.

In a recent interview on Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Bela Padilla said that she does not mind having this moniker.
“Okay naman sa ‘kin ‘yun, Tito Boy kasi feeling ko ‘yung movies ko are really cathartic, mapanakit sa umpisa, pero lumalabas sila na nagkukwentuhan sila, may discussion,” she said to the King of Talk.
She even shared that she would see TikTokers posting essays and discussing her films. According to the actress, those discussions are like defending a thesis.
“Parang may thesis defense, pinag-uusapan po nila lagi ‘yung mga pelikula na ‘Ito ‘yung naramdaman ko,’ parang ‘Stella went through this because she needed growth,’ ganyan,” Bela shared.
Boy Abunda also looked back at the Kapamilya star’s previous movies, and the veteran host said that he noticed that Bela was crying along with the rain. The actress explained that it was just a coincidence in her previous movies, but in her movie A Special Memory, they did it on purpose.

The said movie is her reunion movie with Kapamilya actor Carlo Aquino. She explained that the rain was a device for her character because she have early onset Alzheimer’s. Bela also said that she loves how the script was written. For her, it was so brilliant.
“Parang sinulat po siya ng National Artist natin, Sir Ricky Lee, and directed by Direk Jerry Lopez Sineneng. They created the film in a way na because hindi siya makaalala, kailangan mabuhay ‘yung ibang senses niya, ‘yung pang-amoy niya, ‘yung pakiramdam ng mga kamay,” Bela Padilla shared.
This is supposedly a way for her character in the movie to remember, especially since the rain is said to feel good. However, the actress admitted that she doesn’t like the rain. Bela said that rain makes her feel sad, and this was maybe the reason she would make everyone cry in her movie with rain scenes.
