Veteran film and television actress Vangie Labalan has died at 83.
Carlo, the son of Vangie Labalan, described his mother as “a very generous person” and shared her final moments.
Veteran actress Vangie Labalan died in Australia after battling an undisclosed illness, as confirmed by her family. She was 83 at the time of her passing, and Vangie’s death left the entertainment industry mourning.

Her youngest son, Carlo Labalan, said she passed away on February 12 after she was confined at a hospital in Australia. She is survived by her four children.
Based on a recent interview, Carlo shared that his mother has been cremated already and her remains will come home to the Philippines soon. Her ashes will be brought to the Philippines around the first week of March.
According to her son, Labalan died at the home of his sister shortly after she was brought home from the hospital. The veteran actress did not suffer and died in a peaceful manner. Her children surrounded her, and he could say that during her last few weeks, she was happy, because her wish to be with her children came true.
“Hindi nag-suffer si Mama. Parang natulog lang siya. Surrounded siya ng tatlong kapatid ko na nandoon, and she was very happy sa last few weeks and few days niya sa mundo,” he shared.
Recalling everything, Carlo shared that he had a lot of fond memories with her. He shared that among the core was how she trained them to improve their talents. She was also generous, and she had helped a lot of people.
“Si Mama, kapag nilapitan mo, kapag may pera siya, no questions asked kapag alam niyang kailangan mo, ibibigay niya. Minsan, she’s too generous, pero ganoon siya kabait na tao,” he shared.
