Ken Chan is allegedly a victim of a “love scam”
A netizen has this claim about actor Ken Chan and his business partner, and alleged partner named Ryan Kolton.
Ken’s career was blooming as part of Sparkle GMA Artist Center. He was given opportunities as a male lead in various TV series. The last acting project that he did was the afternoon series Abot Kamay na Pangarap.
However, viewers of the show were surprised when his character suddenly exited from the series. After that, rumors surfaced that Ken was facing an estafa case. Alleged copies of complaint documents circulated on social media.
An arrest warrant was released against Ken Chan in November 2024, but reportedly, he is no longer in the country. His camp released a statement denying that he scammed the investors of his restaurant business.
In April last year, the actor was spotted enjoying himself with other people at Songkran festivities in Thailand.
On January 6, netizen @zubbywilkens shared a post on Reddit under r/ChikaPH saying that a social media site has been exposing the investment scams that Ryan Kolton had committed. Allegedly, Ryan was the mastermind of the investment scam involving Ken.
The netizen also claimed that Ken and Ryan were in a relationship with each other for 6 years. “Kaya din walang statement si KC and nagtago na lang coz he can’t risk outing himself whilst being dragged sa issue. Tho he also tolerated din his partner, eh. Awang awa na lang kami talaga sa mga staffs and suppliers na hindi binayadan,” the netizen claim.
The netizen also claimed that Ken’s starpower was put to use to get the trust of investors, especially his circle of friends. Allegedly, the Eatwood branch of Ken’s restaurant did not pay the salaries of staff and suppliers, but Ryan was able to buy a brand new condo in Eastwood and a luxury car.
Some netizens in the comment section asked @zubbywilkens if how he/she was able to get this information. “Hindi po parang – first hand talaga! Isa ako sa mga napahiya sa mga connections ko na suppliers and staffs na hindi binayadan until now. Ako pa nga napigil sa kanila na gusto na nila ipatulfo si KC before,” the netizen said.
The netizen also said that Ryan really worked his way to use Ken for his investment scam. It was said that in their 6 years of being together, the business discussions just started in their 3rd to 4th year together, and that Ken allegedly believed that they were building their future as a couple.
The netizen added that Ryan Kolton is a serial scammer and that Ken Chan tolerated him because of their relationship.
