Lani Mercado denied that she said this about PBBM
Cavite 2nd District Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla reacted to a post claiming that she said that President Bongbong Marcos should be imprisoned.
This issue was prompted by the alleged involvement of actor-politician Bong Revilla in the anomalous flood control projects. It was alleged that Revilla was one of the senators who received kickbacks.
Previously, Ombudsman Crispin Remulla stated that Revilla might be one of the political figures who will receive a warrant of arrest. The actor-politician has denied his alleged involvement in the anomaly in the flood control projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In a recent social media post, Cong. Lani Mercado denied that in order to defend her husband, he dragged the name of Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
A Facebook page claimed that the former actress said, “Dapat si Marcos Jr ang makulong hindi yong asawa ko si Bong Revila biktima lang siya.”

Mercado stressed that this is fake news and asked the public not to believe what they read on social media easily.
“Huwag basta maniwala, hindi lahat ng nasa internet ay totoo. Don’t spread fake news. Maging mapanuri. Maraming salamat po!” the congresswoman said.
Meanwhile, Bong Revilla asked for prayers after the Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) recommended the filing of flood control charges against him.
He expressed disappointment with the commission’s recommendation to charge him with plunder. Last November, the actor-politician shared a photo with his family. He captioned his post, “God will not forsake us,” and this garnered various reactions from netizens. His critics continued to throw negative comments at him, especially knowing that this was not the first time he had faced a plunder case.
To recall, he also faced a plunder case back in 2014, but he was acquitted in 2018 after being detained for several years.
