Sass Sasot Writes An Open Letter To Secretary Andanar
Sass Rogando Sasot writes an open letter to Secretary Martin Andanar over the accreditation of the political bloggers by the Malacañang Palace.
Sasot was a solid supporter of the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and had been facing different issues and controversies from different personalities including Vice President Leni Robredo over LeniLeaks.
Her letter to Andanar discussed the role of fashion bloggers in the world. She also explained that it changed the world of fashion for good and she also emphasized that political bloggers have also the right to avail what fashion bloggers have.
She also emphasized the role of political bloggers and said that they have the right to fight out, negotiate, reconcile, and bring people closer to politics. Political bloggers also speak and connect with people emphasizing that politicians must serve the people.
Sasot also shared some recommendations to Andanar in accrediting bloggers based on Article 19, an international NGO based in London advocating for freedom of expression. She also cited another organization called “ITU,” which also provide guidelines on how to accredit bloggers.
She also recommends Andanar to accredit the policy on “right to reply,” when bloggers were criticized in order to defend themselves. But Sasot also explains that Rappler doesn’t have the right to reply.

“Regarding standards. May I recommend that the bloggers you would accredit must have the policy on “right of reply.” Right of reply is the right of people to defend themselves against criticisms in the same platform where they were criticise. This policy would serve as check-and-balance against excesses of bloggers in their critique of people in their blogs. Rappler doesn’t have a right of reply policy at all,” wrote by Sasot in the letter.
