Duterte’s Former Spokesman Harry Roque Speaks on Romualdez, Co amid Flood Control Issue
HARRY ROQUE – The former Spokesman of ex-President Rodrigo Duterte claimed that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is allegedly not running after former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Zaldy Co.
Some members of the House of Representatives were dragged into the flood control issue in the Philippines. Among them are former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co. They were initially accused by contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya of allegedly receiving “kickback” from the flood control projects.

Presidential cousin and Leyte Congressman Martin Romualdez resigned from being the House Speaker amid the flood control corruption accusations against him. According to him, he wants the Independent Commission for Infrastructure to be able to fully and freely exercise their mandate to investigate.
Romualdez also appeared the hearing of the ICI in line with the flood control probe. He claimed that he will extend any help he can to fast-track the resolution of the issue. However, in the case of Zaldy Co, he was already out of the country when the accusation against him crossed the surface.

House Speaker Bojie Dy revoked the Travel Clearance of Zaldy Co and ordered him to return to the Philippines immediately. However, he did not heed the call. Instead, he tendered his resignation from being the representative of Ako Bicol Partylist.

Co claimed that he intended to return to the Philippines but he is already apprehensive now amid the public condemnation to him supposedly brought by the hearings conducted by the legislative chambers. Until now, the resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative has yet to return to the country.
Recently, amid the flood control mess in the Philippines, Harry Roque who remains in The Hague, Netherlands now amid a pending arrest warrant issued by a Philippine court took swipe at the Department of Foreign Affairs. According to him, the DFA is supposedly not running after former Speaker Martin Romualdez and Zaldy Co.

Harry Roque was previously cited in contempt over his alleged involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country. He fled and hid for several months. He only showed up in The Hague, Netherlands when the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was transferred to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
In his post, Harry Roque claimed that he allegedly did not corrupt a single penny. According to him, the DFA allegedly keeps on running after him.
“Iyung dalawang hinahabol (referring to Speaker Romualdez and Rep. Zaldy Co) dahil sa trilyones na kurapsyon, parehong abroad ng abroad. Hindi hinahabol ng DFA. Samantalang ako na walang ninakaw na isang kusing, walang tigil ang habol sa akin ng DFA,” Roque stated.
The DFA has yet to comment on the remarks of Roque. Amid the flood control issue in the country, Harry Roque called on Pres. Bongbong Marcos to resign.
