Miss Universe beauties walked down the red carpet of the Governor’s Ball at the SMX Convention Center on Monday night.
January 16, 2017, one of the most prestigious nights of the Miss Universe pageant was held at the SMX Convention Center. The Miss Universe Governor’s Ball became the hot trend topic over the social media.
The most glamorous nights were attended by the many stars and personalities.
In a recent news report of ABS-CBN news, the Government’s Ball, is considered as one of the most anticipated events of the 65th Miss Universe pageant.
Apart from the candidates, some of the country’s top personalities in beauty, showbiz, and even politics are present in the event.
The prestigious ball is one of the pageant events leading up to coronation night on January 30, 2017. It is the Pageant’s official welcome to 86 candidates, Who have been brought together for the first time.
Present in the event were former President Joseph Estrada, pageant sponsor and former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, Tourism Undersecretary Kat de Castro, and Senator Manny Pacquiao.
Also attending were famous personalities and beauty queens from different generations.Members of the Department of Tourism (DOT) were also there, including DOT Secretary Wanda Teo.
The event was hosted by Joey Mead-King, where there were performances by Jed Madela, Frenchie Dy, Radha, Reynan dal Anay, and Jonalyn Viray who sang the official theme song of the beauty pageant titled “Confidently Beautiful.”

The highlight of the night was the grand walk of the beauty queens on the red carpet.
Meanwhile, during the “Parade of Nations” segment, it was reported that Miss Italy Sophia Sergio fainted after the candidates’ roll call.
She was immediately assisted. Moments later, she returned to the venue, told the guests she’s okay, and already recovered.
The event was attended by top executives of the pageant’s sponsors Okada Manila, Solar Entertainment Inc., SM Lifestyle Entertainment Corporation, Philippine Airlines, Pass It Forward, JPark Island Resort and Waterworld Cebu, and the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio.
