Claudine Barretto on finding a family in Rico Yan’s loved ones
Optimum Star Claudine Barretto said that she is now using the surname of her late ex-boyfriend, Rico Yan.
Claudine and Rico’s loveteam was a big hit in the ’90s. Their relationship in real life also gave “kilig” to their fans. However, Rico’s tragic death occurred, and this was devastating for Claudine.
For many years, the actress would recall her memories with her late ex-boyfriend. She would also visit Rico’s tomb on his death anniversary. Their fans continue reminiscing about the bond that they had when they were together.
Over the years, she maintained her connection with Rico’s family. At times, they would hold their gatherings and celebrations.
In a recent Instagram post, Claudine Barretto shared an announcement to her and Rico Yan’s fans. She said that she is now part of the late actor’s family, and with this, she is using his surname.
“It’s not about Rico anymore.its about my luv & relationship with his Mom,who now accepted me as her daughter.so @tinamarieyan @gerryytee & i are now “REAL SISTERS”i can now say I am not just Claudine Barretto.I am now Claudine Barretto YAN,” the Optimum Star.
Claudine said that she is now the daughter of Sita Yan, the mother of Rico. The actress also said that she is happy that Rico’s mom makes her feel loved every single day. Then, she stressed that after the forgiveness comes a real family.
“RY u can now rest Hun.we now have each other to take good care of.You can now Fly with youre beautiful dimple faced smile.as i let u go i carry all the luv & beautiful memories with me in my heart till infinity & beyond,” she said.
In the comment section, Rico’s sister Tina also expressed appreciation to Claudine for always being there for them.
