TNVS Driver Tries to Stab Passengers; LTO Suspends License
The Land Transportation Office has suspended the license of a TNVS driver who tried to stab his passengers following a heated argument.
A couple had a frightening experience during a TNVS ride when the driver attempted to stab them after a heated argument. The incident drew various reactions from the online community.
According to Tin Vertodazo, the passenger who posted the video, she booked a ride going to a condo in Binondo. However, instead of dropping them at the pinned location, the driver stopped near a mall on a different street.

Since they were unfamiliar with the area and had several bags with them, Tin and her boyfriend politely asked the driver to take them to the correct drop-off point.
Unfortunately, the driver refused and even insulted them. To avoid further trouble, the couple decided to get out of the car and pay the fare, but the driver allegedly continued provoking them.
CCTV footage later showed the driver returning to his car, grabbing a knife, and threatening to stab the couple.
The ride-hailing company, Indrive, has since removed the driver from its platform and banned him permanently. They also assured the public that passenger safety is their top priority. Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended the driver’s license for 90 days.
The driver later claimed that the wrong drop-off point caused the misunderstanding and insisted that the weapon he pulled out was just a toy. Still, he is expected to attend a hearing next week along with his operator and a representative from Indrive.
The passenger has also filed a formal complaint with the Manila Police, and legal actions are now being prepared.
Authorities stress that ride-hailing companies must take full responsibility for their drivers’ actions to ensure commuter safety.
