Kapamilya actress Maymay Entrata recalled this memorable moment she had with her mom who passed away last month.
Maymay went through a tough time in May as she bid goodbye to her mother who died after battling cancer. The actress announced this sad news through her Instagram post.
In a recent post she shared on the photo-sharing social media platform, the actress featured a throwback moment.

Maymay Entrata shared a throwback photo with her mom and sibling, and she featured the song Slipping Through My Fingers. In the caption of her post, the actress shared the story behind the photo which was a very memorable moment for her.
I still remember this photo when my mother was so happy to take us out. It was our first day in Japan. She told us that if we counted one thousand steps with her, we would get a prize at the finish line. So we started walking.. one count per step,” Maymay shared.
Her mother worked in Japan for several years to provide for their family. Maymay shared that at that time she and her sibling did not feel tired knowing that there would be a prize waiting for them. The actress remembered that her mother was smiling all the time.
“When we finally reached the end, we found ourselves at McDonald’s. Our prize was ice cream [ice cream emoji] She bought it for us. And I can still perfectly remember how happy we were… how thankful we were,” she shared.

Maymay also shared that later on, she learned that her mom never owned her own car and had to work multiple jobs to provide for their family.
Seeing her mom smile at that time, Maymay said that this will forever remain in her mind. “They will always remind me how strong of a woman she truly is—selfless, resilient, and full of unconditional love,” she said.
Maymay Entrata highlighted that even though they haven’t had a lot of material things from their mom, they were given things that really mattered, and with this, she couldn’t be more thankful.
She didn’t give us much in terms of material things, but she gave us everything that really mattered. And for that, I’ll always be grateful. “Sobang miss ko na si Inay but May this memory bless you as it has blessed me. To all the single mothers out there—saludo po kami sa inyo,” Maymay said.
