Here’s the statement from the camp of Albee Benitez after his wife, Nikki Benitez, filed a case.
Businessman and politician Albee Benitez was accused by his estranged wife, and the billionaire’s camp released this statement.
Dominique “Nikki” Benitez filed a complaint against politician and businessman Alfredo “Albee” Benitez. He allegedly violated Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act 1004. She filed this before the Makati City Regional Trial Court.
Albee’s alleged infidelity caused her mental and emotional distress. She has suspected him of being unfaithful, but never had solid proof. In the affidavit, actress-vlogger Ivana Alawi was mentioned in the VAWC complaint.
“It was only when I received the Petition for Declaration of Nullity of Marriage filed by the Respondent and after reading the admission of Respondent of having fathered two (2) illegitimate children, and his implied admissions of his current illicit relationship with Ivana Alawi, that I was able to confirm his marital infidelity,” the affidavit read.
She felt “utterly betrayed” and “devastated beyond compare” when she discovered the truth.
Recently, in the statement from Atty. Peter Sanchez, legal counsel to the politician, the mayor denied the “baseless and retaliatory allegations” made by his estranged wife. The case was filed shortly after the politician initiated annulment proceedings in 2024, which made them raise questions about the timing and motive of the complaint that alleged economic and psychological abuse stemming from events as far back as 21 years ago.
“Every property acquired during the marriage—including the multi-million peso residences in Forbes Park and Dasmariñas Village—was fully paid for by Mayor Benitez using his own resources, but titled in the name of the complainant, Dominique Lopez-Benitez. This also includes high-value assets such as condominium units, luxury vehicles, and a substantial amount of publicly listed shares, all of which were funded by Mayor Benitez but registered under her (Nikki’s) name,” Sanchez stated.
There has been a court-ordered dissolution of their property regime in 2004, but despite this, Benitez continued to support her wife and her extended family for more than 20 years. He provided way more than just the basic standard of living for them. It included Nikki’s travel, business ventures, staff, and credit card charges, which went on even long after they had separated.
