Contrary to claims, the CSC chair did not resign despite the order from President Bongbong Marcos.
Civil Service Commission Chair Marilyn Barua-Yap said there was no reason to submit a courtesy resignation despite being ordered by President Bongbong Marcos.
On May 22, Philippine President Bongbong Marcos ordered all the members of his cabinet to turn in their courtesy resignations. The call for cabinet secretaries to resign came after the results of the national and local elections on May 12.

While he did not explain further on what triggered his decision, he shared that this will allow him to review the performance of each department and determine who will stay and who will leave based on his priorities.
He already accepted the courtesy resignations of Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo, Environment Secretary Toni Yulo-Loyzaga, and housing czar Jerry Acuzar.
On Friday, Civil Service Commission Chair Marilyn Barua-Yap debunked the claims about her handing in her courtesy resignation. According to a short statement she issued to shed light on the claims circulating online, she did not resign as there was no reason for her to submit.
