OVP Says VP Sara Duterte has Left for The Netherlands

SARA DUTERTE – The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has confirmed that the Vice President flew to The Netherlands where former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to arrive today.

The arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte implemented by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Interpol gathered different reactions from the public. It was something that many Filipinos did not expect as there was no clarity to the existence of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) prior to it.

Duterte was arrested by the authorities at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). He just arrived from a thanksgiving event in Hong Kong which was supposedly a part of the campaign rallies of the PDP-Laban but the Hong Kong authorities did not allow them to campaign in a public assembly.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said that former Pres. Duterte was checked by a doctor amid his arrest to ensure his health. He stayed under the custody of the authorities for several hours yesterday.

Senator Bong Go was one of the allies of the former President who was at NAIA and who also came to where the former President was detained. The Senator stressed that Duterte is turning 80 years old this month and has several illnesses already.

Last night, countless Filipinos were shocked when news reports that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte will be taken to The Netherlands crossed the surface. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte confirmed that her dad, Rodrigo, was “forcibly taken to The Hague”.

Then, the Vice President also confirmed that she will be following her father to The Netherlands. He flew to Dubai with a lawyer, his special assistance, and his nurse. There were reports confirming that the chartered plane carrying the former President has already arrived in Dubai this morning. He is set to fly to The Netherlands.

Based on a recent post of Inquirer, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) confirmed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has flown to The Netherlands this morning at 7:40 a.m. through an Emirates flight.
