Ruffa Gutierrez On Why She Declines To Join Beauty Pageant

This is why Ruffa Gutierrez refuses to join beauty competitions.

Beauty queen-actress Ruffa Gutierrez will no longer join beauty pageants because this is what she would rather do instead.

It’s already been over three decades since Ruffa Gutierrez won Binibining Pilipinas World. She was crowned at the Araneta Coliseum, and to other beauty queens, she is a queen and an icon.

In Miss World 1993, she was named second runner-up, and she was only 18 at that time. She is among the well-loved beauty queens of today, and apart from this legacy, she is also an actress and a doting and loving mom to Lorin and Venice Bektas.

At the present time, the age limit in beauty pageants has been removed, and with all the rules loosened up, is she open to joining a beauty competition again? At the age of 50, she is still receiving offers to join, but she often refuses.

According to her, she is no longer open to doing it, but she’s already over this phase. She’s been there and done that and would rather mentor future beauty queens instead.

She expressed her desire to mentor those who are just starting. She can give them pieces of advice and other things that they would need, just like how beauty pageant icons Melanie Marquez and Gloria Diaz were for her during her younger years in the pageantry.

Gutierrez expressed, “So, kung may beauty queens na aspiring to be international queens, nandito lang ako para tulungan sila and to mentor them as well.”

Meanwhile, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts at PWU in 2022 at the age of 48. She’s pursuing a Master of Arts major in Communication Arts. Her educational endeavors were inspired by her partner, actor-politician Herbert Bautista.
