A week of tragedy was recorded under plane crashes in 2024 just before this year ends.
PLANE CRASHES 2024 – Accidents are unpredictable and in just a week, the world was devastated by these plane tragedies.
A string of plane crashes saddened and alarmed the world. In a week, five major accidents were recorded, raising the call for increased safety measures and stringent investigations. Many were concerned about air travel safety.

- 𝗔𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗷𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝟮𝟴𝟮𝟰𝟯
This incident occurred on December 24, 2024, and resulted in the loss of 38 lives. Reportedly, the plane was shot down during its flight. The reason behind the attack remained unclear but this has sparked international concerns over air safety and alarmed the public due to the the potential for hostile actions targeting civilian aircraft. - 𝗝𝗲𝗷𝘂 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝟮𝟮𝟭𝟲
On December 26, 2024, two days after the 𝗔𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗷𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝟮𝟴𝟮𝟰𝟯 crashed, the Boeing 737-800 forced to make a crash landing due to a bird strike but the cause of the failed landing is still not clear. The crash perplexed the experts because the plane did not appear to have any issues. This plane crash killed 179 people – one of the country’s worst aviation disasters. - 𝗞𝗟𝗠 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝟭𝟮𝟬𝟰
In the same week, another Boeing 737-800 bound for Amsterdam (AMS) was forced to make an emergency landing at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport (TRF) on December 28, 2024. The plane veered off the runway upon landing due to hydraulic failure. - 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝟮𝟮𝟱𝟵
On December 28, 2024, the Dash 8-400, “experienced a suspected landing gear issue” after it arrived at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Nova Scotia. This was due to a landing gear malfunction and fortunately, no fatalities were reported. - 𝗝𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁
The light aircraft crashed into the sea off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah killing the pilot and his co-pilot. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Experts are still investigating whether what caused it was related to weather conditions or mechanical issues.
