Concert of Gary Valenciano Cut Short due to Health Condition
GARY VALENCIANO – The singer known as Mr. Pure Energy shared his wish on how he wants to be remembered by the people.
One of the most popular singers in the Philippines is Gary V. His career in the music industry has spanned for several decades now and he remains to be one of the crowd’s favorite when it comes to stage performances.
Gary V. is known not only for his captivating singing voice but as well as his lively dance moves which earned him the title Mr. Pure Energy. He is married to Angelie Pangilinan, the sister of former Senator Kiko Pangilinan and social media influencer Anthony Pangilinan.
It is no secret to the public that Gary Valenciano has battled several health issues. He has been a step away from losing his life several times but what is more known to the public is that his faith has always been stronger than the health issues that came his way.
Gary V. has battled Type 1 diabetes, tuberculosis, hepatitis, kidney cancer, dengue fever, COVID-19, and pneumonia. He also had a knee surgery as well as a heart bypass surgery. In 2024, he underwent angioplasty.
Countless fans and supporters of Gary Valenciano were happy when it was confirmed that he will be having a concert and it came with a shocking poster. The poster made a lot of fans even more excited to watch his comeback on stage.
However, the title of the concert also left many people wondering if Gary will be retiring from his music career after the Pure Energy: One More Time concert. At the event, the singer clarified that he is not retiring.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Gary Valenciano is clinging on to his faith that there is more than all the concerts he did in the past. He also recalled the happenings in 2008 when his wife led a prayer while he was voiceless for a couple of days. According to him, the first few words of his wife led him to a vision.
“Now, a God-given vision usually meant to symbolize something in the future that’s going to take place. Well friends, that future is now. So, in this vision, I saw myself walking at night toward the direction of the horizon. And I also knew that I wasn’t walking alone. Kasi there was this bright source of light at the corner of my eye that enveloped me in so much peace. The kind that transcended all my understanding. That it was undoubtedly the God that you have often heard me speak about,” Gary said,
According to Gary Valenciano, God told him in his vision that it’s okay to stop and look back. The Almighty promised him that while he will miss the past, there is something more fulfilling that awaits him.
“I’ve given you my all, as I’ve consistently as I tried to do in every performance I’ve given you in the past 40 years. All meant to move you right here (heart). And this is how I wish I’d be remembered,” the singer said.
Based on the report, during his recent concert, the singer had a health condition and the doctors had to be on standby. The wife of the singer, Angeli Pangilinan, shared about the condition of Gary Valenciano after vomiting many times during the concert.
