Neri Miranda hopes the court will hear her plea
Celebrity entrepreneur Neri Miranda asked the court to junk the cases filed against her after being arrested for syndicated estafa and violation of the Securities Regulation Code complaints.
The wife of Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda is now being detained at the Pasay City Jail Female Dormitory. In a statement regarding this issue, Chito defended his wife. He said that Neri was just an endorser of the beauty clinic Dermacare.
Chito also stressed that Neri did not deceive anyone or steal their money. Amid this issue, former Senator Kiko Pangilinan, a lawyer, supported the celebrity entrepreneur and said she was also a victim.
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Director Filbert Catalino Flores III said in a statement that Neri Miranda encouraged people to invest in Beyond Skin Care, the company that they are investigating.
In a report from GMA’s primetime news program 24 Oras, it was said that Neri’s camp asked the court to junk the cases filed against her.
Neri went to Pasay City Regional Trial Court on Thursday morning for the supposed arraignment for her alleged violation of the Securities Regulation Code. Based on the report, sources from RTC Branch 111 said that this was postponed and was moved to January 9.
This was after Neri’s camp filed a motion to quash. The court ordered the prosecution and SEC to issue a comment on the motion filed by the celebrity entrepreneur’s camp. Neri and her camp refused to release a statement to the media.
Meanwhile, the online community has different comments on this issue. Some showed support for the Wais Na Misis while some criticized her that she had overdone it as they believed that the accusations against her were true.
