Shopping Mall in Naga City Hit by Flood Caused by Typhoon Kristine

Flood entered a shopping mall in Naga City amid the onslaught of Typhoon Kristine that caused deep flooding.

Tropical Storm Kristine brought massive devastation in the Bicol region. Naga City, the bailwick of former Vice President Leni Robredo, is greatly affected by the flooding caused by the storm. The former VP even appealed for help.

Former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo requested for some pump boats that can help rescue the residents of Naga City who were trapped on the roof of their houses. The flooding has reached a roof-level and countless residents had to leave their homes while others were trapped on their roof.

The local government unit (LGU) of Naga City also appealed for help as it needed vehicles that can pass through flood that are within three (3) to six (6) feet deep. Some evacuees are in a shopping mall in Naga City but flood also entered the building.

Based on a post of Inquirer, flood entered the shopping mall in Naga City forcing the evacuees to transfer to the second floor of the building. It could be seen in the photos that the evacuees are staying in the foodcourt of the mall and many of them also charge their mobile phones and gadgets.

Based on the post, the flood started to enter the ground floor of the shopping mall in Naga City at 5:00 p.m. The national government has already assured the local government of the Bicol region to extend assistance in their recovery from the impacts of the tropical storm.

Based on the latest advisory of PAGASA, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is still up in several areas in Luzon including Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Ilocos Region, and Central Luzon.
