Rodrigo Duterte named as the most popular president in the world in 2016, after topping the official Congressional canvass election in 2016, who is the current president of the Philippines.
After being on the top in the official Congressional canvass for the 2016 election, Rodrigo “Rody” Roa Duterte has been elected as the new president of the Philippines in May 2016 elections. Rody was the former mayor of Davao City, aside from being a politician he is also a lawyer and popular for his nickname “Digong”.
Digong was the first president of the Philippines that came from Mindanao that has a Visayan descent. Rodrigo Duterte was born on March 20, 1945, where he becomes the president of the country at the age of 71 years old.
Serving Davao City for more than 22 years for being the Mayor of the city for seven consecutive terms. Duterte also served Davao for being the congressman and vice-mayor of the city. Many of his countrymen believed that under his administration there will be a good governance and all forms of corruption in the government will be eliminated.
