There’s pressure and there will be rejection and Liza Soberano has this to say about this.
Liza Soberano is still navigating life in Hollywood and as she continues to pursue her dream, here’s what she said about pressures and rejections.
How far can you go to reach your dreams? For Liza Soberano, despite her success in the Philippines as an actor, she wanted to further her career in Hollywood. She can go as far as this for her dream and while there have been several issues because of the statements she expressed that seemed to have burned the bridges between her and her former network, she seems unfazed.
After leaving ABS-CBN and Star Magic, she signed up with Careless, a company owned by James Reid. However, some years after signing up with them, she left officially this year.
Careless confirmed Liza’s departure and according to Reid, they have different visions. Nonetheless, the company is still open to accepting her again if she decides to come back.
In a previous article, Liza spoke about leaving Careless and according to her, it was a decision that had to be made for a bigger plan. She intends to pursue her dream of penetrating Hollywood.
Now, navigating a life as she pursues this dream without her army of fans, she undergoes the process of auditioning. It’s not as glamorous as it was while she was here in the Philippines but it’s not bothering her. She doesn’t fear rejection.
She quipped, “I don’t really think about rejection. I’ve been in this industry long enough to understand how things work.”
There is, however, pressure on being a Filipino. Representing the Philippines, she makes sure to make her supporters to be proud of her. There’s a stereotype of her race and was offered Filipino roles but for now, she wants to go beyond. She wanted to be true to her Filipino roots but she would like to have her own narrative.
“I don’t want to be limited or categorized based on my race. I want to one day be in the same conversations as other well-known actresses who star in projects that are up for Emmy and Oscar nominations,” she expressed.
