The wife of Harry Roque left the country early September and here are some things about her.
Mylah Roque, wife of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, has already left the country, and here are some details about her.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) Immigration spokesperson Dana Sandoval confirmed on Tuesday that Mylah Roque has already left the Philippines. This is amid the outstanding arrest order from the QuadComm for contempt when she failed to attend the ongoing probe on alleged crimes related to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).
She is the wife of Harry Roque and was able to leave the country on September 3 to go to Singapore. An Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) was issued, however, on September 16.
Lawmakers were already made aware of her escape and House public order and safety chairperson and Laguna lawmaker Dan Fernandez said that this action is accordingly “an action of evading invitation”.
However, despite the escape, they cannot totally get away from the situation. As Harry Roque’s wife, she signed the SALN (Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth) which makes her testimony crucial, especially to the huge amount of money that was sent to the account of the former presidential spokesperson.
The lawmakers wanted to find out where those money came from.
About Mylah Roque
She was appointed Pag-IBIG Board of Trustees on September 19, 2017, as a Private Employers’ Representative. She was a broadcast journalist from 1995 – 2001. Her photos from the Marawi after the siege was displayed in the National Museum.
As a published writer, she co-authored “Bittersweet Stories of Farm Workers in the Philippines” and contributed to the book “The Right to Vote: Filipinos with Disabilities and the 2013 Elections“.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from the University of the Philippines. She was cum laude.
As for Harry, he admitted that he provided legal counsel to Whirlwind Corporation but denied anything related to POGO operations. Whirlwind Corporation is the owner of the land where the raided POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga is found. This is the same area where Lucky South 99 is located, a Porac POGO hub.
In a previous article, the House of Representatives failed to find Roque amid the detention order and while this was the situation, the House considered him a “fugitive”.
Lawmakers believed that if he had nothing to hide, he had no reason to refuse to make an appearance in the committee’s hearing.
