John Arcilla showed how much he loves his parents
Award-winning actor John Arcilla said that he dedicates all his achievements in showbiz to his parents.
John has come a long way from doing supporting and antagonist roles, he is now recognized for doing lead roles. He got the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival for the movie On the Job: The Missing 8.
He also played the role of Gen. Antonio Luna in the critically acclaimed 2015 movie Heneral Luna. John continued to showcase his acting caliber in different teleseryes he starred in.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Balita, John Arcilla said that he really wants his parents to be proud of him.
“Kung anoman ‘yong mga narating ko—I was able to receive an international award—sa kanila lahat ‘yon, e. I mean, gusto ko proud talaga sila. Hindi lang ako ‘yong proud. Achievement namin ‘yon, ng buong pamilya namin,” the award-winning actor said.
John shared a heartbreaking story about his mother. He said that his mom Eustaquia Gonzales was so young when she lost her parents. Her older sibling took care of her and she had to stop studying.
It pained John that his mother just finished high school and she was going through financial problem that time. “Naalala ko noong kinukuwento niya, mayro’n silang project. Ni wala siyang pambili ng gantsilyo,” the actor shared.
With this, John said that he would do everything to give back to his parents. This was not the first time that the actor expressed how he values his parents.
In a past Facebook post, John Arcilla stressed that taking care of one’s parents is not really an obligation or “utang na loob.” For him, it is the “normal at natural na duty ng mga anak.“
