Ruffa Gutierrez has this answer when asked about Herbert Bautista
Actress Ruffa Gutierrez said that she and her boyfriend actor-politician Herbert Bautista do not talk about politics.
Herbert is one of the many celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry who ventured into politics. He was the mayor of Quezon City, the entertainment capital of the country, from 2010 to 2019.
In 2022, Herbert tried his luck for a national position. He ran for Senator but unfortunately, he did not win.
In a recent interview, while the filing of the certificate of candidacy was ongoing, Herbert Bautista was asked if he planned to return to politics after taking a break.
The actor-politician said that there was still time to think about what his decision would be. There was still uncertainty and he said that a lot could happen within days. However, he stressed that he never stopped doing public service because he still helps those who are victims of calamities.
The filing of COC ended but Herbert did file. Based on the article in Abante, there had been rumors that Herbert would run for Senator while some people speculated that he would run for Congressman.
Entertainment writer Jun Lalin shared that people close to Herbert confirmed that he really did not file COC. The entertainment writer shared that they asked Ruffa Gutierrez about her boyfriend‘s decision.
“I don’t know. We don’t talk politics!” she answered, adding that she is wondering why people have been asking about this. “Ask him. Ikaw na magtanong,” the actress said to the entertainment writer.
Even Jun Lalin received questions about Herbert Bautista’s decision not to file his COC. “Nakakaloka nga at ako ang tinatanong din ng mga tao bakit hindi kumandidato si Bistek. Akala yata nila ako si Ruffa. Hahaha,” Lalin said.
As of this writing, Herbert has not spoken yet about his decision not to return to politics.
