In a recent Instagram post that Gardo Versoza shared, he featured the statement that Dolphy had about being urged to run for a government position.

Gardo simply captioned his post with folded hand emojis. This received support from netizens including seasoned broadcaster Arnold Clavio.

“TAMA ! Buti pa si Dolphy , may utak at puso!” the Kapuso news anchor wrote in the comment section and this received over a hundred likes. Netizens also criticized celebrities who easily decide to be in politics.

For the 202 5 elections, many celebrities have filed their certificate of candidacy (COC) for different positions. Some are newbies in the world of politics while some are reelectionists.

In the history of politics in the Philippines, many showbiz personalities have been elected for national positions such as former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada and current Senators Robin Padilla, Bong Revilla, and Jinggoy Estrada.

Among celebrities who are newbies in politics were Kapamilya host Luis Manzano, and actors Marco Gumabao and Aljur Abrenica.
