Fil-Am Armless Pilot Sues Universal Studios For Discrimination

The lady pilot was not allowed by the Universal Studios to enjoy the rides for she has no arms.

Filipina American pilot, Jessica Cox, has filed a formal complaint against Universal Studios a theme park in Orlando, Florida for disallowing her to enjoy the rides because she has no hands.

Jessica was very disappointed because this has been the first time that she was not allowed to go on rides of Universal Studios, a discrimination she has not experienced in other theme parks.

The armless pilot emphasized that she filed a complaint because she does not want the same discrimination to be experienced by other persons with disability (PWDs).

The alleged discrimination took place last November of 2015 when she went to the Universal Studios with her husband where she was restricted from all the attractions.

“I was frustrated that the theme park was being advertised as a welcoming environment when my experience of being excluded just demonstrated that it is not. People like me would benefit from being better informed about the park’s policies on disabilities so that we could find better use of our time…I felt ignored, unseen, not taken into account”, Cox said.

The Universal Studios, however, offered for a refund but for Cox, it will never be enough.
