Lady Customer Expresses Dismay w/ Pet-Friendly Restaurant After Being Prohibited From Bringing Her Aspin Dog
A female customer expressed her frustration towards the pet-friendly restaurant after allegedly being prohibited from bringing in her Aspin dog.
Recently, Lara L. Antonio, a Facebook user, shared her experience after visiting Balay Dako, a popular restaurant, where she expected her dog, Yoda, to be allowed inside since they had been there before. However, things didn’t go as planned.
Upon arrival, the staff handed her a list of pet guidelines, stating that only small to medium-sized dogs were allowed, and dogs must wear diapers. Lara, thinking it was a simple issue of not having a diaper, planned to buy one from the restaurant.
Unfortunately, another staff member saw Yoda and told her that the dog couldn’t enter because of her size. Despite Yoda being considered medium-sized, the restaurant insisted that only dogs under 15 kg were allowed, even though this rule wasn’t mentioned on their website or social media.
However, Lara noticed that larger breeds, like Labradors, were allowed inside, adding to her belief that Yoda was being discriminated against for being an Aspin. She asked for clarification but was met with inconsistent answers from the staff, who couldn’t show her any official rules about the weight limit for dogs.
“Okay lang maman kung online – there has to be CLEAR guidelines. But don’t look at my dog, ask what her breed is and then tell me there’s a 15kg rule AND THEN SAY “the only dogs we allow are shit tzus and LABRADORS ?????” LABRADORS are literally 20kgs and above. (I’m sure they said more breeds pero wala na akong nadinig lol),” Lara said.
Many netizens end up questioning the restaurant’s unclear pet policy. Her experience emphasizes the importance of transparency, especially when promoting a pet-friendly environment.
“Balay Dako is NOT pet friendly to big dogs or Aspins. Don’t bother going,” she added.
