Jodi Sta Maria is excited that her son Thirdy is now in college
Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta Maria shared that being a mom to his son Panfilo “Thirdy” Lacson III, she does a lot of letting go.
Jodi is a hands-on mom to her son. Over the years, she was able to juggle being an actress and being a mom to Thirdy. The closeness between them is inevitable. In a previous interview, Jodi shared that when Thirdy reached his teenage years, their working dynamic changed. The actress and her son would do some commercials in the past but the recent one is different because he is now a teenager.
Thirdy is Jodi’s son with her ex-husband Pampi Lacson. Their not-so-little boy is now a college student. In a recent interview, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, the actress talked about her son. She shared that things are different now that her son is a teenager.
“Noong maliit si Thirdy, parang ako talaga ang mundo niya. And then now, he is in college, asserting his individuality or, at times, asserting his autonomy. Ganun na kami,” Jodi Sta Maria said.
She said that looking back, she realized that parenting went through different seasons. It was different when Thirdy was just a little boy and eventually, he grew up and did things on his own.
The actress said that this will change again if the time comes when Thirdy would be working already. Jodi said that she is not so strict with her son. “Basta ako I do a lot of letting go. Hindi ko na siya masyadong sinasakal,” she said.
Jodi said that she is now letting go of her worries and fears. She also said that she trusts Thirdy and she is letting the more powerful entity take care of her son.
When asked about her message to her son, the actress shared that every time she and Thirdy would have a heart-to-heart talk, she would always say “I love you” to him. If Jodi would say this, she would remind her son that she loves him not only during good days but also during bad days. She said that Thirdy knows this.
