Ex-Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque To Attend July 29 Senate Hearing, Will Mayor Alice Guo Attend?
HARRY ROQUE – The former Presidential Spokesperson confirmed that he has met suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.
As of now, the investigation regarding the illegal POGO operations in the country goes on. The Senate has set the next hearing for the issue on July 29. Suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo who is linked to the illegal POGO operations in her town has yet to surface.
Currently, there is a pending Senate arrest order against Mayor Guo after she was cited for contempt. She ditched the June 26 and July 10 hearings set by the upper chamber. In a statement that she issued amid a pending arrest order, she claimed that she is choosing her peace of mind and health now.
According to the suspended Mayor, she is ready to face the accusations against her “at a proper forum”. In her statement as well as the letter that Mayor Guo sent to Senate President Chiz Escudero, she did not mention whether or not she will attend the July 29 hearing.
Suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo may be tagged as “fugitive” if she will skip the July 29 hearing set by the Senate. Based on a report on GMA News, former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque was also invited by the Senate to attend the next hearing for illegal POGOs in the country.
Roque was the presidential spokesman during the term of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. His name was dragged in the POGO issues after a letter of Roque was found in a raided POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga.
Based on a report on GMA News, Philippine Amusement Gaming Corporation chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said that former spokesman Harry Roque extended a hand to a raided POGO hub in Porac in re-applying for a license.
Tengco said that Roque was named as the Lucky South 99’s legal department’s head based on the organizational chart of the POGO firm. The former presidential spokesman denied being a lawyer of the firm.
Former presidential spokesman Harry Roque confirmed that he has met suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo. Based on the report, Roque said that he met Guo at former Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez’s in-law’s house. He had also joined her rally in Bulacan.
“They invited me to the Senate, very good. I’ll give you a teaser, I will really expose who the protector of POGO is,” Roque said.
Currently, the former Presidential Spokesperson is in the United States for the events set by the Hakbang ng Maisug in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and New York.
Last Monday, President Bongbong Marcos spoke on the POGO issues and announced a ban of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators in the country. It elicited cheers from the audience as the Chief Executive was silent on the issue in the days prior to his SONA and he has finally broken his silence.
