Evacuees of Marikina Due to Flood Return To Their Homes

Evacuees of Marikina have return to their respective homes on Monday (August 15, 2016). National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) confirmed that because of southwest monsoon five lives have been taken away.

The victim includes one old man and 11 years old kid. In Marikina there are over 9, 000 evacuees return to their homes. The residents from Marikina evacuates because of the heavy rain that causes flooding in the place.

Around 2,000 families evacuate the area because of the heavy rain last weekend. On Monday as the water level in Marikina decreases to 13.8 meters so the residents are going back to their normal lives. Their only concern for now is how they can repair again their damaged homes.

A lady named Norie Santos finds hard washing their clothes and cleaning their homes because of the mud that was brought by flood. Their houses in Barangay Tumana are damaged by the flood because of heavy rain last weekend. Along Barangay Tumana is the Marikina River where the flood is 6 feet above.
