How Kim Chiu Handles Heartbreaks in Life and Love?
KIM CHIU – The Kapamilya actress and one of the Showtime mainstay hosts revealed how she handles heartbreaks.
Living a celebrity life since 2007 after she emerged as the big winner of the Pinoy Big Brother first teen edition, many of the happenings in the life of Kim was not a total secret to the public. She was only 16 years old then when she hooked the spotlight.
Even after her PBB stint, Kim managed to remain in the entertainment industry. In 2007, she starred a hit television series entitled Sana Maulit Muli. The GMMSF awarded with as Most Promising Female Star of the Year. Kim’s loveteam with fellow former PBB housemate Gerald Anderson was also recognized as the Most Popular Loveteam.
The on-screen tandem of Kim and Gerald led to a real-life relationship. However, in 2010, their relationship ended. In 2018, after several months of speculations, the actress confirmed that she’s dating actor Xian Lim.
Xian and Kim were on-screen partners before they became real-life lovers. They worked together in several projects including the TV series My Binondo Girl and The Story of Us. The two celebrities are collectively called “KimXi” by their fans and supporters.
However, last November 2024, countless people most especially KimXi fans and supporters were saddened when Kim confirmed her breakup with Xian. In a previous interview, Xian claimed that he was not the one who initiated his breakup with Kim.
Xian earned countless criticisms which he denied — the third party allegations and the steak issue being among these accusations. Kim remained mum except in one interview when she asked her ex-boyfriend to give the issue a rest after the actor had series of statements about their separation.
Recently, in an episode of the Visayan mainstream talk show Kuan On One with Melai Cantiveros, Kim Chiu revealed how she handles heartbreaks. According to the actress, she’s not the person who will go out and let people see that she’s crying.
“Meron kasing nagsabi sa akin, na huwag kong dalhin ‘yung personal kong problema sa harap ng maraming tao. Kasi, hindi naman ako ma-explain ang sarili ko kung anong nangyayari sa akin, ang i-explain ko sa’yo ‘Uy, etong nangyari sa akin,” the actress said.
Kim Chiu further explained that there are a lot of people watching TV and she cannot explain herself so she would rather keep it to herself.
“Kunwari sa showtime, tatlong oras lang ‘yan, tatlong oras lang na tawanan, may 24 hours sa isang araw so puwede na akong bumalik sa sarili ko, ganyan hindi ko dadalhin ang problema sa trabaho,” she said.
Meanwhile, during the interview, Kim expressed that showing some vulnerability sometimes is also fine. She stressed that it is important to also have someone to talk to to keep your sanity. She believes that experience is the best teacher.
“I-feel mo lang tapos hindi mo-ideny, hindi mo i-kuan tanggapin mo na ganun talaga ang nangyari hindi mo kasalanan, hindi rin kasalanan nung lalaki or ng kahit sino, walang may kasalanan. Nangyari lang talaga siya,” the actress expressed.
