Spa Offering ‘Extra Services’ in Pasay City Raided by Authorities
The authorities raided a spa in Pasay City that was allegedly providing “extra services” beyond regular massages.
Around 9 PM on Saturday evening (June 8, 2024), the Pasay City Police, the local government unit (LGU), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) led the operation. Authorities were alerted to the spa’s activities after an undercover operative confirmed the presence of illegal activities.
Pasay Police Station Chief Police Colonel Samuel Pabonita said that they sent someone in pretending to be a customer, and found out that this establishment was indeed engaging in illegal activities.
Colonel Pabonita reported that a total of ten women and two men were working at the spa. Among them, four women were rescued during the raid.
Ang range ng kanilang edad is from 22-28.”
The raid led to the arrest of the receptionist and the cashier. Authorities also seized a box of contraceptives and several cell phones as evidence. Additionally, the spa could not present a valid business permit.
Further investigation revealed that the spa is operated by a corporation that also has a branch in Tacloban City. The establishment has been closed by City Hall, and the investigation continues.
The spa’s manager and owner are now being sought and face charges of human trafficking.
