Paulo Avelino said this about his new series with Kim Chiu
Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino revealed that he accepted the offer to the series What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? because of his leading lady Kim Chiu.
Paulo and Kim’s received an overwhelming reaction from fans. They first worked together in the series Linlang. That project gave life to the KimPau tandem. Because of their onscreen chemistry, rumors surfaced that there might be something romantic between them.
After Linlang, the onscreen partners were given a chance to be in the Filipino adaptation of the K-drama series What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?
In a recent press conference for this new series, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Paulo Avelino shared that WWWSK was his “pambawi” to Kim Chiu.
“Dahil sa pagmamahal ko bilang katrabaho ka (sabay tingin kay Kim) at sa lahat ng binigay mo sa Linlang, pambawi ‘to sa ‘yo,” the actor said and this made everyone at the presscon felt the “kilig.”
He also admitted that he accepted to project because of his leading lady. “If it was offered to me and it wasn’t Kim, I’d probably have second thoughts,” Paulo revealed.
During the presscon, Kim also garnered “kilig” reactions when she mentioned that Paulo is more handsome than K-drama star Park Seo-joon, the leading man in the original series.
She said that Paulo knew what he was doing and that he was very consistent. Kim added that she and her leading man have a lot in common and they share the same passion for their work. For her, Paulo is like her boy counterpart.
The actor quipped that he is the “low-batt version” of Kim. “Nakakatuwang makatrabaho ang isang Paulo Avelino. Mas nakaka-amaze kasi tinanggap niya itong rom-com na genre so mas napahanga niya ako as an actor dahil kaya niyang gawin lahat talaga in his best,” Kim said.
Previously, comedian-actor Pepe Herrera, who is also part of this new series, shared that Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino are like “mag-asawa” on the set.
