With the weekend igniting the excitement of many people, long weekends weigh more. These extended weekends happen when a holiday falls on a Friday or a Monday and there were lots of them in the previous year.
Countless individuals live a busy schedule almost everyday. Many of these people only have the long weekends for out-of-town trips with family or even just to spend a good breakfast with their loved ones at home as they usually either skip it or do it at work. There are four (4) holidays in the Philippines this March. Two (2) of them fall on a Thursday and a Friday making up for a really long weekend. These holidays make up the Holy Week 2024 which will be celebrated from March 28 until March 31 this month.

- March 30 (Saturday) – Black Saturday
- March 31 (Sunday) – Easter Sunday
In the country, classes in schools and work in the government are cancelled on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Black Saturday, and Easter Sunday. In the private sector, a lot of companies and businesses also cancel work for the Holy Week celebration.

During the holidays, employees that report to work are entitled for extra pays based on the holiday pay rules in the Philippines.
