In the Philippines, banks are among the entities that you may turn to for loans. One of the trusted banks in the country is BDO Unibank. Its Personal Loan offer is non-collateral and open for both employed and self-employed individuals.
In applying for the offer, there are BDO Personal Loan requirements that must be submitted. Here are the general requirements:
- duly-completed and signed BDO Personal Loan Application Form
- any of the following government issued IDs:
- Preferred IDs:
- Driver’s License, Philippine Passport, TIN ID, SSS ID or GSIS ID eCard
- Other acceptable IDs
- UMID Card, PhilSys ID, Voter’s ID, Philippine Postal ID, PRC ID or Philhealth ID
- Copy of Employment Contract or Certificate of Employment
- Letter from the Embassy (if Embassy Official)
- plus any of the following:
- valid VISA and work permit
- Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) or Immigrant Certificate of Registration (ICR) or ACR-I
- valid passport with any of the following:
- Special Investors Resident VISA
- Special Non-Immigrant VISA for PEZA or VISA with EO226
- plus any of the following:
- Preferred IDs:
The proof of income depends whether you are locally-employed or self-employed. Here are the documents needed as proof of income:
Locally-Employed Applicants
- Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) duly stamped and received by the Bureau of Internal Revenue or BIR Form 2316 signed by employer’s authorized representative
- Latest full month’s payslip
- Original Certificate of Employment indicating status, service tenure and compensation breakdown
- If with credit card from other banks, copy of the latest two (2) months statement of credit card existing at least one (1) year
For Self-Employed Applicants
- Latest Income Tax Return duly stamped as received by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Audited Financial Statements for the last two (2) years
- Registration of Business Name
- For Single proprietorship – issued by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
- For Partnerships or Corporations – issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
- Latest three (3) months bank statement (OPTIONAL)
- If requested loan amount is more than P1 Million:
- Latest three (3) months bank statement and at least one (1) trade reference
- GIS (if company is a corporation)
Until December 31, 2023, BDO Unibank offers a low monthly interest rate of 0.98%. The loan is payable from six (6) months up to 36 months. The repayment can be done via Auto-Debit Arrangement or ADA.
