Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, in a recent interview, spoke about the current PH bet Michelle Dee for the much-anticipated Miss Universe 2023. As much as we all know, Diaz is the country’s first Miss Universe.
Speaking about Michelle and what she has observed, she can say that she can make it far in the competition. She was asked about Dee in an interview on TeleRadyo Serbisyo.
She just thinks this way but according to her, the “day itself will show” as after all, “this is business and luck”. Despite her observation, she believes that the result will rely on several factors.
“Of course, Melanie is my favorite co-beauty queen and she is, to me, the most beautiful talaga. Michelle, on a scale of 1 to 10 compared to Melanie, she is a 7, 8 in spite of siguro her leanings or whatever they call it. She has a good chance. Kasi in a beauty contest hindi naman kuwan kagandahan, katalinuhan, 100%. It’s luck,” she said.
She also recalled her own experience and mused that she was not the prettiest during her time but still won. This is accordingly because of the element of luck. She added that Michelle is not the “perfect choice” but she could finish strong in this year’s competition.
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray also expressed support for Dee. She commended the current representative of the country during the prelims. She believed she had a solid performance for this part of the competition.
In a previous article, Dee shared her thoughts about Miss Universe a day before the coronation night. She expressed that she trusts her training and preparation for this day and she is just letting destiny take its course as she pushes through the grand finals of the competition.
