Megan Young is still being remembered as one of the best beauty queens
Kapuso actress Megan Young was asked to react to the “Best Miss World” tag being given to her by pageant fans.
Megan was one of the stars who came from a talent search. From being part of the Kapuso talent search Starstruck, opportunities in showbiz opened for her. Eventually, she found her path leading to beauty pageants.
In 2013, she joined the Miss World Philippines pageant and in the same year, she was hailed as Miss World. She was the first-ever Pinay beauty queen who got the said title.
Years after she won, Megan Young continued to be tapped by the Miss World Organization as a pageant host. Over the years, she hosted the international pageant several times.
In a recent conversation with her fellow former beauty queen MJ Lastimosa, based on the article in Balita, Megan was asked how she deals with being called the “Best Miss World.” The Kapuso star admitted that she had no expectations about this.
“Actually, ‘di ko naman ine-expect talaga na ‘yun ‘yung magiging tagline na parang ‘I’ll be the ‘Best Miss World’ ever. Siyempre, ‘pag may nagawa kang accomplishment, gusto mo na magawa mo ‘yung hanggang sa kaya mo,” Megan said.
She added that she was just enjoying it to the fullest. Although there were times that she would hope that she had done something more, she would just remind herself that she was too young at that time.
Megan won the crown when she was just 23 years old. She was a bit innocent of a lot of things at that time. MJ commented that she looked like she knew what she was doing. The Kapuso actress said that it was like “fake it until you make it.”
“And kahit na feeling ko medyo lost ako noong mga panahon na ‘yun, I really tried to learn as much as I could,” she added.
