Due to the alleged cheating allegations by the camp of Sen. Bongbong Marcos, Kaya Natin! champion Migs Dominguez defended the administration candidate Rep. Leni Robredo by showing their statement of support on Thursday. According to the former Sarangani governor Migs Dominguez, the Marco camp has not presented evidence that the Liberal Party has executed a new computer program in the Comelec’s Transparency Server that shaved Marcos’ votes.
The chief of Kaya Natin! Migs Dominguez was awarded champion of good governance by the movement founded by Rep. Robredo’s husband, the late Interior Secretary and former Naga Mayor Jesse Robredo, who espoused humble grassroots leadership in Naga before his death in a plane crash in 2012.
“We strongly condemn the allegations of cheating and electoral fraud made by the camp of Senator Bongbong Marcos [against] the camp of Rep. Leni Robredo and the Comelec,” Dominguez said.
“Ever since these malicious allegations have been made in public, the Marcos camp has not presented any clear, concrete evidence to back up their claims. As in any accusation made, we challenge the Marcos camp to justify their allegations with facts and not mere hearsay,” he added.
Migs Dominguez said on behalf of Kaya Natin! that he was offended by Marcos camp’s insinuations that Robredo’s lead was a result of vote rigging in Mindanao. Kaya Natin! also stated that it was not Rep. Robredo but Sen. Marcos who would do anything to win the vice presidency for his ultimate shot at the presidency in 2022.
Dominguez said it is time for the country to be run by leaders who come from the grassroots, referring to the tandem of Robredo, a Camarines Sur representative, and presumptive presidential winner Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
