Duterte May Impose Curfew To Minors After 10PM, Ban Loud Karaoke Like In Davao City
The presumptive upcoming President Rodrigo Duterte may impose curfew nationwide on minors just like he has done in Davao City, according to Duterte’s spokesperson Peter Laviña.
According to a report on ABS-CBN, Laviña said in an interview that Duterte is thinking about implementing a nationwide curfew for minors from 10 p.m. onward.
Duterte’s spokesperson said that the curfew will only affect those unescorted minors. That means those minors who do no have adults with them.
“The curfew is principally for minors, unescorted minors past 10 p.m. It does not bar minors with their parents and their guardians,” Laviña said as quoted in the article.
He also added that the curfew will be implemented for the purpose of making sure that children would be in their homes probably sleeping earlier in preparation for school next day.
Laviña also added that just like in Davao City, Duterte might be imposing a ban on loud karaoke starting 9 o’clock in the evening.
Another ban that the upcoming president is eyeing is the nationwide liquor ban that disallows the sale of these kinds of beverages from 1AM to 8AM.
But, the spokesperson pointed out that the ban will only be applied on the liquor being sold and consumed in public. Laviña said that there is still freedom for people to drink these beverages as long as they are in their homes.
He added that these actions will first undergo consultations with certain parties.
It is known that Rodrigo Duterte had been promising that his administration will end crime, corruption in government, and other things to be ended within three to six months.
