Richard Gutierrez apprehended due to Overspeeding along the Killer Highway

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported that the young Filipino actor Richard Gutierrez has been one out of the 90 people who have been apprehended for over speeding along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, Philippines on Tuesday.

According to a radio report, the MMDA released a statement saying that Gutierrez was on his way for a taping venue yesterday when he was apprehended.

The reporter said that Gutierrez was even got angry as he had been shouting at the traffic personnel of the MMDA when he was caught.

Authorities under MMDA added that Richard Gutierrez along with the 89 individuals had violated the intended speed limit which is 60 kilometer per hour on driving along the 12.4-km highway of Commonwealth Avenue.

As of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, the MMDA further said that 50 persons were as well apprehended due to over speeding on the same road, Commonwealth Avenue, known by many as the “Killer Highway”.

The said agency deepened the campaign against over speeding along the Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City following the dreadful death of Chit Estella Simbulan, one of the veteran journalists in the country.

Simbulan is also known to be a journalism professor. The veteran journalist was about to take a taxi when the Universal Guiding Star Bus Line unit run speedily as it bumped the vehicle when it was about to do a U-turn near Philcoa which is located alongside the Commonwealth Avenue.

Consequently, Simbulan was declared dead on arrival though she was immediately brought to the nearby General Malvar Medical Foundation Hospital.

At present, police authorities are still hunting the bus driver who was reportedly escaped after the dreadful incident.
