Cop Suffers Injuries After Beaten by Construction Workers in a Basketball Game in Quezon
A cop files complaint against two construction workers after allegedly beaten during a basketball game in Quezon.
A police officer received a bruise and a black eye after being beaten by a rival while playing basketball in Barangay Kiloloron, Real, Quezon. According to the report, the complainant is Corporal Mark Valdez, a native of Cauayan City, Isabela, assigned to the 4th Platoon, 1st QPMFC in Real.
Following the incident, Valdez filed a lawsuit against basketball opponents at the Real Police Station. The accused were described in the police complaint as Ruel Gacelo, 27, and Wilbert Libantino, 33, both construction employees.
According to the report, they defeated Valdez after both teams warmed up in the SK basketball league on June 5th. Their team is a part of the KKDAT (Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo) program.
However, the game turned heated in the midst, resulting in a punch between the two. The barangay officials responded quickly and contained the ruckus.
They also came to the police’s aid. According to the doctor who evaluated the sufferer, the bruises on his head and body from the beating require 30 days of treatment.
