Dennis Orcullo, the former World Number 1 also nicknamed “The Robocop” is the first Filipino to advanced to Final 64 of the recently held World Ten Ball Championship at World Trade Center in Roxas, Boulevard, Pasay City.
A total of 44 countries, represented by 128 of the best billiard players in the world were seeing action in the tournament that offers over $250,000. Winners of the tournament will bring home $60,000 while $30,000 will go to the second placer. Semifinalists will pocket $15,000 each while $7,500 will go to the 5th to 8th placers.
Sebastian “Baste” Chua of Star Billiards Center, a long time billiard patron was one of the major sponsor of the event.
Dennis Orcullo came from Surigao in the southern part of the Philippines. His achievements includes the 2010 Guanghou Asian Games Gold Medalist. Dennis Orcullo won the WPA World Eight-ball title, besting Niels Feijen in the championship match.
