The President of the Republic of the Philippines, the main proponent of “Tuwid na Daan” government reminded presidential aspirant Senator Grace Poe who made an official statement regarding her intention to run for President, not to make promises that are impossible to fulfill.
Pres. Aquino stated during a press briefing in Malacañang, that election candidates should respect the voting public by making statements and promises that are grounded on reality.
The country’s highest public official was quoted as saying “Sana tulad ng pakiusap ko naman doon sa talagang oposisyon: Kapag magsalita tayo ibase natin sa katotohanan at ‘yung pangako natin ilagay din natin sa katotohanan,” Aquino said.
“Huwag nating ipangako ‘yung langit at saka mga estrelya at saka ‘yung buwan, kung hindi naman natin talagang kayang abutin iyon,” he added.
Although the President made a statement reminding the presidential aspirant, Sen. Grace Poe, he also thanked the senator for recognizing his efforts in fighting corruption in government.
Sen. Grace Poe stated during her speech at the University of the Philippines on Wednesday, no single group can continue Aquino’s Daang Matuwid platform as the senator laid out the 20 goals of her presidency.
As part of Pres. Aquino’s response to Sen. Grace Poe, he challenged the senator to surpass the achievement of his administration.
