BDO KABAYAN LOAN REQUIREMENTS 2026 – For Filipinos who are working as domestic helpers abroad, here are the qualifications under the offer and the documents required.
There are plenty of loan offers that are available today and many of them are designed not only for locally employed or self-employed Filipinos but as well as Filipinos who are employed abroad. One of the trusted institutions with the said offers is the BDO Unibank.

BDO is among the most reputable banks in the Philippines. It has wide range of offers that includes financial products that attend to different needs. Aside from the BDO Housing Loan offer, the bank also has the BDO Kabayan Personal Loan which was created specifically for Filipinos working abroad.
Many OFWs are employed as domestic helpers in other countries. They are among those who may apply for the Kabayan Loan offer of BDO Unibank.

For Filipinos who are working as domestic helpers abroad who are interested to apply for the loan offer, the bank has outlined a clear set of qualifications and BDO Kabayan Loan requirements for application.

To qualify for the loan offer, the borrower should meet the following qualifications:
- Filipino citizen or former Filipino (with or without dual citizenship)
- At least 25 years old at the time of application
- Not older than 65 years upon loan maturity
- With at least three (3) years of continuous employment contract
- Must have at least one (1) landline in either local or foreign residence or employment location, and the beneficiary must also have a landline
- Gross monthly income of ₱20,000 or its US$ equivalent
- Good credit history
- At least one (1) beneficiary’s address (residence or employment/business) must be within the service areas of BDO Unibank
- Manning agency must be accredited by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA)
There is also a unique set of BDO Kabayan Loan requirements crafted for Filipinos who are working as domestic helpers abroad. Here’s a guide on the documents that are needed to apply for the loan offer:
- Duly accomplished and signed BDO Kabayan Loan Application Form
- One (1) government-issued ID (front and back)
- Preferred IDs – Philippine Identification System (PhilSys ID), Philippine Passport, Driver’s License, TIN ID, SSS ID, GSIS eCard
- Other acceptable IDs – UMID Card, Voter’s ID, Philippine Postal ID, PRC ID, PhilHealth ID
- Last six (6) months Certificate of Employment or current employment contract (if applicable); OR [one line only]
- Latest one (1) full month payslip; AND
- Six (6) months bank statements
- Six (6) months remittance slips (optional)
For easier repayment, borrowers may enroll in an Automatic Debit Arrangement (ADA). Under it, the monthly amortization will be automatically deducted directly from their account. This helps avoid penalties from late payments.
BDO Unibank applies the following charges under the Kabayan Personal Loan program:
- Processing Fee – ₱1,300
- Documentary Stamp Tax Fee – ₱1.50 for every ₱200 of the approved loan amount or fraction thereof, whichever is higher. This applies to loans above ₱250,000 or for business purposes regardless of the loan amount.
- Penalty Fee – 5% per month of the unpaid amount due
- Installment Processing Fee – 5% of the outstanding principal balance, or ₱300, whichever is higher
- Certification Request Fee – ₱100 per request
