Mika Salamanca Reacts to Sky High Meralco Bill That Almost Hit ₱40,000
MIKA SALAMANCA – What was supposed to be a simple house update turned into a shocking moment after Mika Salamanca revealed the hefty electricity bill she recently received.
Mika Salamanca, the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition Kapuso Big Winner, recently shared a relatable frustration that many Filipino households have been experiencing—an unexpectedly high electricity bill from Meralco.
In her latest vlog, where she also provided updates on the progress of her house construction, Mika gave viewers a glimpse of the electric bill for the condominium unit where she currently lives. While the vlog mainly focused on her ongoing home project, the conversation quickly shifted after she revealed the amount she was about to pay for electricity.
“Magkaka-reveal-an tayo ng kuryente ngayon kas nakakaiyak talaga ang kuryente ngayon,” said Mika as she showed the bill to her cameraman.
The content creator and actress was visibly shocked after discovering that her electricity bill had climbed to nearly ₱40,000. The amount left her speechless, especially since she believes their electricity consumption at home does not justify such a high charge.
“Ha? Teka lang. Aray ko naman. Nagmahal ‘yung kuryente ko. Lalo!” said Mika.
She went on to explain that she barely spends time at home because of her hectic work schedule, making the huge bill even more surprising.
“Grabe naman yan! Take note, guys! Lagi akong nasa trabaho. Umuuwi ako gabi na, minsan madaling araw na.”
Mika also pointed out that although her condominium has three bedrooms, the people staying there are not heavy users of air conditioning. She emphasized that they only have one television, use a single electric fan, and rarely use the microwave because they usually cook their meals instead.
“Isa lang ang TV ko. Isang electric fan. ‘Yung microwave minsan lang gamitin kasi nagluluto. Bakit ganito kamahal?” the young celebrity said, still unable to believe it.
Unable to hide her disbelief, Mika expressed how painful it was to see the total amount reflected on her bill.
“Ang sakit sa puso. P39k? Nahiya pa kayo! Hindi n’yo pa ginawang P40k!”
Mika is not the first celebrity to publicly react to soaring electricity costs. Several other personalities have also shared similar experiences after receiving unusually expensive Meralco bills.
