The National Assessment for School Heads (NASH) serves as DepEd’s competency-based evaluation designed for teachers and education professionals who aspire to become school heads, principals, or administrators.
The assessment was established to help improve the quality of school leadership across the country. It also supports DepEd’s goal of ensuring that future school leaders meet the expectations outlined in the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH) and the Expanded Career Progression System.
Rather than focusing mainly on a traditional examination format, NASH evaluates an applicant’s leadership skills, management abilities, decision-making capacity, and overall preparedness to handle the responsibilities of leading a school.
Passing the assessment is an important achievement, but it does not guarantee immediate appointment to a school head position.
Those who pass must still satisfy all qualification requirements and complete the ranking, screening, and selection processes required by both the Department of Education and the Civil Service Commission.
Applicants are encouraged to stay updated with their respective Schools Division Offices for updates on the next steps, submission of documents, and other important requirements.
As of this writing, the Department of Education has yet to provide an official date for the release of the NASH Batch 2 FY 2025 results. However, NASH Results May 2026 might be released on July 2026.
